About the Role

As a People Business Partner at MVRDV, you play a crucial role in driving organizational development and fostering a positive work environment, supported by clear frameworks and a thriving culture that enables high-performing teams. MVRDV is a leading international architecture firm that has experienced significant growth in recent years. We are an ambitious organization, creating distinctive and innovative designs with talent from all over the world. Our international environment is fast-paced, diverse, and filled with analytical, intrinsically motivated, and determined colleagues.

The People & Organisation team supports this ambition by fostering a strong organizational culture and a healthy working environment. We’ve made important strides over the past year, but there is still work to be done. That’s why we’re looking for someone with expertise, enthusiasm, and the ability to make things happen. Our goal is to be a strong partner to management, a great advisor to team members and able to streamline our HR processes to support an exceptional employee experience. You enjoy operating on both a tactical and operational level, and you thrive in a high-demanding environment where you know how to anticipate needs and adapt accordingly.

About the Team

You’ll join a team of six passionate colleagues. In this role, you’ll have the freedom to shape your responsibilities and contribute to a variety of HR themes. It’s a role for someone who enjoys working independently while being a real team player. We work hard but value a laugh, collegiality, trust, and open communication. In our team, talent development and being your authentic self are core principles.

About MVRDV

MVRDV is a globally recognised architecture and urbanism practice, headquartered in Rotterdam, with offices in Shanghai, Paris, Berlin, and New York. Founded in 1993, MVRDV designs innovative, socially responsible, and sustainable architecture. Our team of over 250 professionals from more than 40 nationalities pushes the boundaries of architecture worldwide.

In addition to our design studios, we have essential non-design departments in business development, finance, HR, PR, operations and IT. These professionals support our creative work and ensure smooth operations. At MVRDV, we value all team members and believe in a diverse and inclusive workforce.

Job requirements

  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.

  • You hold a completed Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management (HRM) or a related field.

  • You bring strong project management skills and are able to switch easily between a variety of topics.

  • You have experience working in an international organization with a diverse, multicultural workforce.

  • You have a positive and proactive mindset, and you’re energized by achieving (even small) milestones.

  • You’re willing to travel regularly to our satellite offices in Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, and New York.

  • You’re flexible and adaptable in a fast-changing environment.

  • You’re passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted partner and advisor to our Studio Directors on key HR topics such as absenteeism, vitality, roles & responsebilities, compensation and benefits and labour law.

  • Proactively contribute to organizational change and guide employees through transitions and transformations.

  • Implement HR policies that reflect the needs of a highly diverse, international team.

  • Identify development needs and design impactful training programs to support employee performance and growth.
