Applying for an internship

An internship at MVRDV means from day one you'll push your creative boundaries, contribute to groundbreaking projects, and gain invaluable insights into the architectural design process. Mentored by experienced professionals, your voice and input will become as important as that of your project leader or partner.

Eligibility requirements

Studies

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in architecture, urban design, or a related field, and will remain enrolled for the entire duration of the internship.

Full-time availability

You should be available forty hours per week for the complete internship period of six months.

Permitted to work

You must be legally permitted to work in the Netherlands, France, or Germany.

Knowledge & experience

You should have knowledge/experience in relevant software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Rhinoceros, and Enscape where applicable to the internship.

Evidence of enrollment

Written evidence of enrollment in a university or academy.

Soft skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Language skills

Excellent verbal and written English. Other languages are a plus.

Application timeline

Fall Internships: Applications open in April for internships running from September to February.

Spring Internships: Applications open in October for internships running from March to August.

How we hire

We have a thorough but efficient application process, to ensure we make the right decision and to help you decide if we're the right fit for you.

Confirming your availability

A recruiter will first reach out to you via email to confirm your eligibility for the internship. This means understanding if you're available full-time and that you're enrolled at a university for the full duration of the internship.

We'll also get to know a little bit about you, and whether we think we'd be a good fit for one another.

Interview

This is a Q&A session where you can ask anything about the internship, such as what to expect, what projects you'll be working on, and what opportunities there are for growth and development. You're also encouraged to ask questions about our work culture, team dynamics, and anything else you're curious about! We'll ask questions to learn about your skills and experiences, and you'll have the chance to learn more about MVRDV.
