Are you an experienced and passionate HR professional who thrives on building strong relationships with stakeholders and driving meaningful change? MVRDV is looking for an Interim HR Advisor to support our Berlin-based team and help shape the future of our international architecture firm. 

About the Role

As a HR Advisor at MVRDV Berlin, you partner closely with our Satellite Director in Berlin and the HR team in Rotterdam to provide expert HR guidance across a range of topics. You work both on an operational as well as a tactical level, being in the lead but supported. While you are based in Berlin, your approach and initiatives are aligned with and based on the established HR practices in Rotterdam, ensuring consistency across locations. 

 

  • Partner with the Satellite Director to advise on HR topics including performance, team development, wellbeing and strategic workforce planning. 

  • Support the team in Berlin with HR related topics, including advising on contract and payroll-related matters; you’ll be the point of contact for questions and ensure employees receive clear guidance and support. 

  • Identify development needs and co-design effective training programs that support professional growth and team performance. 

  • Implement HR policies and practices that reflect the diversity of our workforce. 

  • Drive initiatives that foster an open, inclusive, and engaging work culture. 

  • Collaborate with the broader HR team in Rotterdam to co-develop policies, improve HR processes specifically for Berlin; and together, ensure a consistent employee experience across our offices. 

 

About the team 

A supportive HR team of six professionals based at our Rotterdam headquarters. While you will be working independently in Berlin, you’ll be closely connected to the rest of the team in Rotterdam, contributing to HR themes across the organisation. We value collaboration, clear communication, trust and humor.

Job requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as HR advisor/business partner with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to challenge others when needed. 

  • Fluent in English, strong preference for German speaking. 

  • Holds a relevant degree in HRM or a related field. 

  • Excellent understanding of German labor law and HR practices. 

  • Has good project management skills and can balance various responsibilities effectively. 

  • Has experience in an international setting, ideally with diverse teams. 

  • Brings a positive, proactive mindset and has a self-starting way of working. 

  • Is adaptable, collaborative, and enthusiastic about driving positive change.
