About the role

Due to an expanding portfolio MVRDV is looking for a Dutch speaking Urban Designer to start as soon as possible. The position is full-time and based at MVRDV’s office in Rotterdam. As an Urban Designer at MVRDV, you will work in a dynamic, international studio alongside creative colleagues from all over the world. You’ll contribute to diverse, forward-thinking projects, bringing your expertise and design to the team.

You should have experience with the design of urban visions and masterplans and with the design of landscape and public space, as well as knowledge and/or sensitivity towards regenerative urbanism, ecosystems integration and resilient approach to urbanism. For example, we are currently working on an AI campus in Heilbronn, Germany, an airport development in Toronto, an ecological river project in Korea, an urban masterplan for the municipality of Leiden in the Netherlands and a waterfront development in Vancouver.

• Professional degree as an urban planner or designer;
• Minimum 3 years of experience (preferably in international environments);
• Eligibility to work in the Netherlands;
• Creative, innovative and strong design and graphic skills;
• Team player with a flexible mindset able to work across scales, context and within highly dynamic and multidisciplinary teams;
• Strong AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Adobe suite skills is an asset;
• Knowledge of Grasshopper and GIS is very appreciated;
• Knowledge of MVRDV’s work, theory and methodology is an asset;
• Fluent in Dutch and in English (Mandarin, French, and German is an asset).
