MVRDV invites qualified candidates currently studying architecture or urbanism to apply for the position of Business Development Intern. We are looking for creative and innovative candidates with a vision reflecting our work.


A highly dynamic, internationally orientated and creative office with many enthusiastic colleagues that work on projects on different scales all over the world. The education process is varied and intensive. You will form an integral part of the business development team and develop new skills on many levels, from the acquisition process to liaising with the architectural teams, producing project proposals. Because of this, you will gain extensive knowledge of architectural and urban development processes from the inside, while also getting a chance to practice your ability to sell ideas and buildings.

Candidates receive a basic monthly stipend as a compensation. Rotterdam is a relatively affordable city that can be traveled entirely by bicycle. Frequent events in art, film, design and architecture are organized boosting the city’s architectural activities. Interns usually meet with other interns, architects and students and enter the city’s buzzing social life easily.

  • Graphic design skills and experience with creating diagrams and layouts will be highly valued
  • Creative and innovative skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Understanding of architectural processes 
  • Excellent knowledge of English language will be highly valued
  • Written evidence of enrollment in a university or academy
  • Fluent in English
  • Candidates from inside the EU require a study or exchange visa
  • Availability for the duration of six months or a year
